Among my 80 shows, I saw shows in seven of these venues. For suspense, I have decided to list them backwards. Here is the list of the popular venues in Grateful Dead history, the 20x20. Ironically, there are only one Dark Star>Sing Me Back Home from The Spectrum on Ma(He's Gone>Jam>a 4 minute Dark Star>SMBH), I would have thought there were more of those (oops, I must have forgot the El Paso from 8-27-72 Veneta). I recommend listening to all the jams into Sing Me Back Home, there are 8 versions preceeded by The Other One. This was played at alot of well known shows since as April 25, 26 at the Fillmore East, in Europe in 1971, nine times during May of the Europe '72 Tour, Kesey's Farm Field Trip and before 500,000 at Watkins Glen. I know some of you on were disappointed with my Merl post this week, because it was the "other Merl", so here's your chance to hear numerous versions of Merl Haggard's classic Sing Me Back Home. Jerry ApSolo Version of Sing Me Back Home Lesser known are the 7 versions performance acoustic by Jerry Garcia, the one solo version from Apat the Capitol Theatre and the 6 others he performed with John Kahn from April 21 through July 2, 1982. Sing Me Back Home was played 40 times by the Grateful Dead between Apat the Manhattan Center and Septemin Buffalo. Note that this was not the first time Brent played with the drummers in Berkeley at the SeptemGreek show I saw the second set of jam of Lost Sailor>Saint>Terrapin>Good Times pre Drums. I feel for Brent's pain, especially in hindsight when he died of an overdose four years later, but his condition lead to an unpredictable night at this REX benefit at 3,000 seat Berkeley Community Theater. And maybe you know someone who got too wasted that they slept through a show or forgot their tickets. You never know what's going to happen at a Grateful Dead concert. Where else are you going to see that at the high school auditorium five blocks from your house? We all have off nights and we all got too messed up at the wrong time but it still was a remarkable night with a very cool drum fueled keyboard thing in the middle that you hear now that lead into a crazed 3 minute solo Maybe You Know>Goin Down the Road>Dew (second and late Dew of 1986, by the way). Brent did get really messed up at the famous Brent meltdown show but big fucking deal. You can review your autopay details on the Payments tab of your Online Portal.Yes it's true.
